In this post I’ll try to explain how equipment attribute buffs and augmentation buffs stack up in the game. You can either watch this video or continue reading this post:
Let’s take a look at Equipment Attribute buffs first. These can be obtained from 3 main sources, you can get certain equipment buffs from vigilante skills, you can get them from the Invest Center & also from the Hitman Agency.
If you click on the boost details symbol next to your equipment, you’ll get to see exactly how much you’re getting from each category.
A lot of players think that if you get a 5% equipment attribute buff, that would simply add 5% to your existing equipment buffs. However, that doesn’t really make sense, since not all buffs are percentage buffs, you also have buffs like wounded capacity & crime ops capacity that are just whole numbers & not percentages. Which means that you can not add 5% to the number 20,000 directly since it doesn’t make sense.
What doesn’t make sense however, is to add 5% of the number 20,000 to the number 20,000 itself to get 21,000 & that’s exactly what’s happening with not just the whole numbers, but also with the percentages. If you’re getting 10% crew attack & defense from your equipment & you have a 5% equipment attribute buff, then that 10% will not go up to 15% but it’ll go up by 5% of 10% which is just 0.5%
The bonus equipment attribute buffs that you’re getting will be shown in green & will apply, not only to your base equipment buffs but also to the alteration buffs that you get from the equipment.
However, you’ll also notice that there are some extra buffs that you’re getting only on your base equipment buffs that are shown in yellow. These are the augmentation buffs, which you can get by augmenting your equipment to higher levels. You get a 5% buff for each augmentation level & again the 5% buffs are calculated exactly as I had shown shown earlier. This means that I’ll get a 1000 crime ops capacity increase & 0.5% Crew Attack & Defense increase per augmentation level.
