Mafia City – Beginners Guide – How to get more power!

Getting more power in the game is key for you to go up in the power rankings. Also, a lot of clans recruit based on power, so more power for you would mean a better chance for you to get into a good clan. This post is going to show you exactly how you can get more power in Mafia City. You can check out the video below for the 5 different ways to increase your power & you can read this post to the end for the 6th bonus tip. So, let’s get right into the tips.

Tip #1: Upgrade Buildings

The game allows you to have a maximum of 2 building queues. In order to grow fast, you want to keep both these queues busy as much as possible in order to grow fast. The upgrades get expensive very quickly so the only way to keep both the queues busy later in the game is to use farm accounts. (I’ll do a separate post later showing you how to set up farm accounts)

Tip #2: Train Troops

This is the easiest way to get power in the game. You should make sure that you’re always training troops so that your power increases over time. However, Training a lot of troops will increase your upkeep substantially. So, if your not an aggressive player then you should only train enough troops to fill up all of your marches so that you can send them all out to rob resources. If however, you’re an aggressive player and attack a lot of other players, then you should train a lot of troops so that you have plenty of them to do the attacks.

Tip #3: Investment

The invest center gives you a wide variety of properties to invest in. You can invest in them based on your play style. Again, the cost of these investments go up pretty quickly so you’ll need a lot of resources later in the game for doing these investments.

Tip #4: Leader Level

Every time your leader levels up, you get a small boost in power. Always check your inventory for those experience items which you can use to gain experience. It’ll help you level up your leader quickly especially early on in the game.

Tip #5: Defense Weapons

Building higher level defense weapons will give you more power. You can increase the maximum capacity of your defense weapons by upgrading your wall. If you have 67 skill points, you’ll be able to unlock the ‘craftsman’ skill, which will allow you to build 500 defense weapons for free every 4 hours. The defense weapons built using this skill will be based on the highest level you can build in the security center. So, the higher your security center level is, the better this skill will work.

Bonus Tip – Tip #6: Equipment

You get a small power boost for equipping better equipment. The higher the equipment level & the better it’s quality, the more power you get for equipping it. Make sure you’re always robbing gems at the lapidary complex so that you can craft better equipment quickly. Investing in the ‘gem making speedup’ property will increase the speed of gem making and can reduce the time for making a green quality gem from 8 hours to 5 hours 20 minutes, so max this property out whenever you can.

Those were all the ways in which you can increase your power in the game. If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to leave them down in the comments below.

  1. Hi, my question is a little different. I am actually LOSING power. Slowly but it does go down. Not in any battles or attacks. No injured troops. It just drops without any explanation.

  2. How do you level up vigilantes? Mine don’t have any exp and I can’t figure out what I need to do to level them.

  3. Is there a set number of times you can attack a clan?

I’m having a very difficult time finding bond where is it located?

    1. It depends on what you’re trying to achieve.
If you’re trying to build fast then you should invest most of your skill points in growth.
If you’re trying to attack people during the kill event then you should invest most (or all) of your skill points in growth.
If you’re trying to grind experience quickly & train a lot of troops then you should invest in support.
While dividing your skill points I would suggest getting all the 3 basic skills first in each skill tree (the beck & call skill, Shakedown skill & energetic skill) since getting each of these skills only cost 3 skill points. However, if you’re making temporary skill switches (for example, a 3 day switch for the kill event) then you should invest all those skill points into one skill tree.
At level 38, you can unlock the rescue skill in the battle tree which is a very good skill for doing kill events, it converts all lost troops into wounded during a turf attack for 1 battle until your hospital is full & has an 8 hour cooldown. You should definitely get that skill during kill events it helps score a lot of points.

    1. You can get Angela & Catalina fragments by spending gold. However, the fragments for all the other vigilantes can only be obtained through $5 packs.

      1. How do I get exp for Catalina. In one of the chapters I need to get her to level 3 and I don’t know how to get exp points for a vigilante

    1. You mean leadership of your clan? If someone else takes leadership of your clan, you will lose control of it & they can do whatever they want to do with the clan. They can promote, kick or recruit members, they can change the name & tag, they could disband the clan & a do lot more.

  4. What is the best way to invest your skill points as you level up? Should you try to invest in each category evenly or should you build one up first? Thank you!

    1. It depends on what you’re trying to achieve.
If you’re trying to build fast then you should invest most of your skill points in growth.
If you’re trying to attack people during the kill event then you should invest most (or all) of your skill points in growth.

  5. Is there any other way to buy equipment? All I have is a lvl 15 rifle, but nothing else. Trying to get more, but the only option I think I have is to exchange at the pawn shop which only grants me 1 item I can upgrade

    1. Yeah, you can only craft one equipment at a time. But that shouldn’t really be a problem unless you’re crafting low quality equipment. Purple or higher quality gems take long to get. It takes a decent amount of time to save up gems for making purple or higher quality equipment. If you are crafting anything below purple quality you should try saving up gems for purple equipment. Doing so will save you a lot of checks that are used for making equipment especially the high level ones (since the check cost is the same regardless of the quality of the equipment) & you’ll also be able to get decent stats without spending a lot of checks.
The problem with crafting low quality equipment is that it will cost you a ton of checks whenever you decide to upgrade to higher quality & you most probably won’t have enough when that happens thus delaying your progress.

    1. The clan tower construction speed is based on the amount and level of troops you send.
Sending higher tier troops will speed up construction
Sending more troops will also speed up construction
The total number of troops that you can send to build a clan tower is determined by the level of the clan hall of the first player to send troops in it. So make sure that the player with the highest level clan hall sends his troops in first to build the tower so that you get max capacity.
