Governor Event – Mafia City

In this post, I’m going to be explaining how the governor event works. You can either watch this video or continue reading this post:

The governor event is just like a mayor event but with multiple cities participating in it. Most of the players that fight for governor right now have buffs close to 2000%. So, if your buffs aren’t there yet, you shouldn’t event try to compete for the center.

The governor event happens around once every month & it has 2 phases. There’s the territory dividing phase which lasts for 7 days & the battle phase which lasts for 8 hours.

During the territory dividing phase, cities are grouped into different states where they’ll be fighting for governor. Player get to see which cities are in their state during this phase so they can plan ahead of time.

Once the battle starts, it lasts for 8 hours & the leader that occupies the center for the longest amount of time becomes the governor. Most governors ignore the 4 towers & go straight for the center because capturing the towers doesn’t do much. It only reduces your losses a little.

If you’re not fighting for governor & you still decide to enter the battlefield then, I’d highly recommend using a shield immediately after entering & that you stay shielded for the entire 8 hours if you do not want to get zeroed. It doesn’t matter how strong you are, you’d want to stay shielded for the whole battle. I’ve even seen players with around 100M power get zeroed during governor, so trust me, you don’t want to take the risk.

After shielding, you can send your troops out to gather resources. Gathering resources on the governor’s map gives you gathering points which you can use to get some useful items like godfather coins & advanced teleports. I always use my gathering points to get godfather coins.

In the same way, you also get honor points for losing troops during this event. Troops that only get wounded & set to the hospital will not give you any honor points. Honor points can also be exchanged for useful items like Godfather Coins & Roadster Points. In my opinion, it’s best to invest all the honor points you get into roadster points first & then invest the extra honor points into godfather coins if you have any left.

Also, there’s no need to worry about not being able to use all your gathering or honor points before the battle ends because you can still use those points for future governor events. You do not lose those points.

In my opinion, it’s better for most players to voluntarily kill most of their troops during governor because at least you get something for doing so. It’s far better than getting zeroed during a kill event because of forgetting to put on a shield.

Once the governor battle is over, the players that occupied the Governor’s Office for the longest time in each of the States will get the Governor Buff & they’ll also be able to appoint officials & servants just like the mayor. However, the officials & servants can be anyone from their entire state, it doesn’t only have to be players from their city. The governors also win a Governor’s Equipment Coupon which allows them to get one piece of the Governor’s Equipment.
